Super-fast broadband coming?

Within the next year, we could be looking at Super-fast broadband coming via cable, with speeds of 100 megabits per second being possible.

"This is a cost-efficient technology, as we use the cable TV networks which are already in place," Jukka Rinnevaara, chief executive of small-cap Finnish broadband equipment maker Teleste, told Reuters.
Such speeds may be absolutely necessary for the internet connected home of the future, which may come to rely on an internet connection to provide all telecommunications functionality including TV and telephone.
