The Mozilla Foundation is setting up a for-profit subsidiary known as the Mozilla Corporation that will market Mozilla's free Firefox browser. The foundation itself will continue as a not-for-profit entity, but the corporation will develop and deliver end-user products, and handle marketing, sponsorships, and distribution activities. These activities will help provide funds for the development and testing of various Mozilla products, whilst the Foundation will focus on managing the open-source projects, distributing the source code and so forth.

"The Mozilla Foundation has never been focused on enterprise customers," said Chris Blizzard, board member of Mozilla Corporation. "That won't change anytime soon, but we now have the ability to establish those kinds of relationships, and that was more difficult under a nonprofit model. Now the door is open."
