Even with the Xbox 360 firmly on the horizon, don't make the mistake of thinking that Microsoft is forgetting the PC as a gaming platform. The company plans instigate an 18-month plan to establish games for Windows as an attractive platform in advance of the launch of Windows Vista next year.

"We're putting the 'game' back in Windows," Chris Donohue, group manager for Windows gaming and graphics told the site. "We're over the hump with Xbox 360 so now ready to build Windows as a platform."
No firm figures have emerged as regards the amount of capital that Microsoft plans to invest in making Vista a top class gaming platform, but we can expect that it will be significant. Product Manager Kelly Stanmore called it Microsoft's "biggest ever investment" in Windows gaming, so expect something mammoth.
