HP to bundle Netscape

By

On October 4, 2005, 1:22 PM EST

HP will be bundling Netscape with all new HP desktops and laptops sold in the US and Canada. Under this initiative, users will have the choice of either Netscape or Internet Explorer. The company has said it made the choice to use Netscape because of its relative security and its ability to use two rendering engines – both that of IE and Firefox. The deal will also help AOL by making it easier for users to sign up to it.
