By Derek Sooman on February 13, 2006, 4:08 PM
Back in the news again today, UKs NTL is beginning trials of ultra fast broadband next month that could provide speeds of up to 100Mb. The company is teaming up with US outfit ARRIS to run the trials, which could see the provision of new services such as super fast movie downloads, and other content, as well as security services such as closed circuit TV.

This would be good for huge interprisese,The average joe, gamers etc etc. I can't wait for this to be mainstream. Another thing to eat up my wallet. How fast is the up? Oh well at those speeds playing games from mars would be lag free.

That would be just like being at a lan. imagine bittorrents going on that baby. ftp programs would be like windows explorer across a network. COPY and PASTE good things for a lan, better thing for the internet

I currently have Telewest 10Mb broadband and rarely exceed half that bandwidth during download. I can't see 100Mb being too useful at present.
