Oracle has released Secure Enterprise Search 10g, marking the company’s entry into the standalone enterprise search market. Oracle believes that the software could enable business users to search corporate data in the same way that Google allows Net users to search public data on the web.

"We're very excited about this product," said Larry Ellison, Oracle's chief executive officer, speaking at the Oracle OpenWorld Tokyo 2006. "It's one of our biggest announcements for many, many years. It's the result of years of innovation and hard work."
