As various companies slowly begin to creep on iPod territory, LG Electronics has joined them with the launch of an mp3 player with an 8GB HDD inside in the U.K.. The device, called the MFJM53, has a 1.77 inch screen, an OLED color display, and of course supports mp3/wav. Sadly, it does not support Linux officially, and is designed for Windows XP/2000, but odds are they will at least extend support to Macs. It has a microphone built in and can play mpeg4 files, and supposedly has up to 30 hours of battery life during music play. It is extremely light, quite small, and does look quite good, but there is no word on pricing or if there will be availability outside the U.K.
