Core 2 Duo price cuts on the way

By Justin Mann on January 8, 2007, 10:00 PM
Good news for those looking to upgrade to Core 2 Duo, the price cuts from Intel rumored about last month are almost here, and by the end of January will become apparent. With the additional revisions on the market, the price of the lower end Core 2s will be around $163 a fantastic price for such a powerful CPU. Hopefully this will not only make building a desktop even cheaper, but also inspire AMD to drop prices as well.

That's whats great about being tech savvy. You get an Asus P5B for $120 and then get a E6300 for $180 for a grand total of $300 then you bump the up the FSB 300mhz and whola you have a computer that is better then an FX62 which by the way will run you $600 for the chip and an extra $90 for the motherboard. You save almost $400 when you go with Intel. By the way you can use that $400 you saved to get a decent Nvidia 8800 video card.
