Wii outsells PS3 and 360 in February
Several months into its release, the Wii continues to have great success. For the month of February, once again, the Wii outsold the PS3 and the Xbox 360, with around 335,000 units sold. In comparison, the PlayStation 3 managed to snag around 127,000 new customers and the 360 about 228,000. Interestingly enough, the PS2 continues to outsell the PS3. Though many said the inferior hardware of the Wii would doom it from the beginning, that clearly is not the case, with an estimated total of 5 million shipped Wiis vs 1.6 million shipped PS3s. Overall, though, Microsoft continues to dominate as they slowly approach 11 million Xbox 360s in the field.
