OLPC OS made available for download

Anyone who likes to tinker can appreciate this. A Linux LiveCD has been released containing the specialized distribution that is running on the OLPC laptops. So far, we've only seen demonstrations of the software and heard about it in videos or press releases. Now, if you wish, you can download it and try it out for yourself. The image itself is tiny in comparison to a typical desktop distro, only 291MB in size. You can download it from the RedHat download server and install it on a machine yourself, provided you find one with compatible hardware.

As the article mentions, the OLPC won't likely ever be available in retail, instead maintaining its position as a laptop for emerging countries. The software alone is interesting, though.
