After some time without many major updates, the anti-spyware company Lavasoft today released the newest version of their flagship program, Ad-Aware. The fully redesigned anti-spyware solution has a new architecture and improved malware detection as new attacks emerging in the industry show amazing stealth and sophistication.

“The launch of Ad-Aware 2007 is an important step for us here at Lavasoft, setting the groundwork for our focus on the next generation of malware and spyware threats,” said Lavasoft CEO Ann-Christine Åkerlund.
The new Ad-Aware 2007 Free (formerly known as Ad-Aware Personal) carries a host of new features including a fully rebuilt engine which results in faster scanning times; and while initially it will not be Vista compatible, a new Vista compatible version (32-bit) is in the works and set to be released at the end of August.
