Google is reaching out to iPhone users, by crafting a new home page for the units that is custom-tailored with a plethora of Google services. The new site, powered by Ajax, is capable of being used on the iPod Touch as well. The new service has been receiving mixed reviews
, with some praising it and others chiding it for certain glitches.
Anything new is bound to have slip ups, however, and I think it is a grand idea for Google to do something like this. Being able to incorporate a Gmail account, a calendar, a search engine and others into an easily-accessible single interface on a PDA would be a step forward in accessibility. Likely, with their focus on Android, Google will begin developing hordes of software tailored for the mobile world.
