United Keys partners with FoxConn to build OLED keyboards
Earlier this month during the CES at Las Vegas, the much-hyped and long-awaited Optimus Maximus keyboard finally shed its “vaporware” status with a working prototype, a February release date, and a $1,499 price tag.
If you are put off by the Optimus’ hefty price tag, however, you may be interested to know that United Keys has just announced that it has signed a deal with FoxConn to build their own gaming keyboard with several OLED function buttons. The companies are aiming to ship the keyboard by summer and, although no pricing information is available at the moment, it’s probably safe to assume it will be less than $1,499 as it will only contain nine OLED-enabled configurable function keys.
