Dell adds Wireless USB to select Inspiron and XPS notebooks
Back in July 2007, the first devices submitted for Wireless USB certification were finally approved. Now, Dell has quietly added the Wireless USB feature on some of their best selling laptop models. Those laptop models getting the optional $145 upgrade include the XPS M1330, XPS M1530, Inspiron 1525 and Inspiron 1720.
In addition to the internal wireless USB adapter, Dell is also bundling a short-range Belkin 4-port USB hub for all your peripherals. Peaking at 480Mbps over short distances, the technology certainly has the potential to replace most wires – and unclutter your desk – using ultra wideband to connect a system to a wireless USB hub or directly to the newest mix of external hard drives, printers, and other peripherals.
