Remember the Do-It-Yourself gaming notebook program OCZ unveiled last month? Well, while the company wasn’t particularly informative about pricing or release details at the time of the announcement, those looking to get their hands on one of these DIY machines will be glad to know that they’ve already hit store shelves.

Buy.com is selling the machine for $669.99. That’ll get you the base 15.4-inch notebook with an Intel PM965 chipset, 512MB Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT mobile GPU, 8x DVD burner, and 9-cell battery. You’ll of course need to provide your own processor (any Core 2 Duo is supported), memory, HDD, Wi-Fi adapter, and operating system. Though the notebook’s price will easily jump over the $1,000 mark, many will welcome the option of purchasing a base notebook and customizing it to their needs.
