Logitech to develop instruments for Guitar Hero World Tour
Music based games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band are among the hottest-selling franchises these days, and not just in terms of copies sold. The downloadable songs for these two games have done so well that they have made an impact on online music sales as a whole, while makers of third-party controllers are looking for a piece of the market as well.
Such is the case with Logitech, which is teaming up with Activision to produce “premium instrument controllers” for Guitar Hero World Tour. The game is set to ship this fall for the Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, and PS3 consoles. Though no details have been announced about the peripherals themselves, we can almost certainly expect good things from Logitech – whether or not their controllers will be compatible with Rock Band is unknown, though. The line should include a guitar controller, microphone, and a drum kit.
