Interview with original Fallout designer

If you are a fan of the Fallout series and are eagerly awaiting the release of Fallout 3, you will definitely like a recent interview with Tim Cain, a designer from the original series. Mr. Cain talks about his perspective on Fallout 3 as a game, indicating that even if it's not the direction he'd have taken the series, it looks promising. He commented on the modified targeting system, which is a hybrid of the original and the new real-time combat system.

He also commented on a future Bethesda project – a Fallout MMO. While he may be upbeat about the release of Fallout 3, converting the series to an MMO seems to disappoint him. He expressed a concern about how you would incorporate an atmosphere of desolation and loneliness into one populated by thousands of people, saying it would detract from the feeling of a world with little left in it.
