EA and 2K Games license Nvidia's PhysX technology
Nvidia’s PhysX technology has plenty to offer to the gaming world, not only because offloading physics calculations from the CPU and onto the GPU results in a smoother gaming experience, but also because it helps make game objects respond in a more realistic manner to physical events. Its adoption in modern game titles is far from widespread unfortunately, but Nvidia is certainly hoping to change that soon.
Today the company has announced that two of the world's biggest game studios, Electronic Arts and 2K Games, have both licensed the PhysX technology as a development platform at their respective studios. No particular games have been announced to incorporate the newly licensed technology from Nvidia, but hopefully it won’t be long until we see more big-name titles showcasing what PhysX can do. You can read the EA press release here and also the official 2K Games announcement here.
