AT&T offers refurbished iPhone 3Gs for $99
As expected, the iPhone finally went on sale at Walmart stores over the weekend for $197 – a mere $2 below the regular list price. But what happened with the much-rumored $99 iPhone that was supposed to make an appearance this month? Well, it has also arrived, though it is not a 4GB model nor it is not sold at Walmart stores.
AT&T is knocking out refurbished 8GB iPhones at $99 apiece, and 16GB models for $199. The deal still requires a 2-year contract, which you would have to agree to no matter when you bought or what price you paid, and lasts until supplies run out or December 31, whichever comes first. Either way, the deal is not expected to last long, but at the very least could give Apple and AT&T an indication of how well a $99 iPhone would sell.
