Corsair launches new Dominator GT line of DDR3 RAM

Corsair today took the wraps off its new Dominator GT line of ultra high-performance DDR3 memory modules for Intel Core i7-based systems. Available in three different configurations, the new Dominator GT kits all come with a racing red color scheme and Corsair’s Dual-path Heat eXchange (DHX) technology to keep high temperatures at bay.

The standard 6GB PC3-15000 offering includes three 2GB modules rated for operation at up to 1,866MHz with 7-8-7-20 timings and a 1.65V memory voltage. The company will also sell 3GB and 6GB PC3-16000 kits rated for 2,000MHz with the same timings and voltage, though apparently these will only be available on their online store and in “very limited quantities.”

All Dominator GT sticks have single-piece heatsinks with removable cooling fins designed to work with multiple cooling systems, from air cooling to liquid cooling or even a “custom-designed thermoelectric cooling system” for maximum overclockability. As one might expect, these new high performance memory modules from Corsair won’t come in cheap. Current pricing has the 3GB kit at $299.99, while the other two 6GB kits are rated at $479.99 and $579.99 depending on clock speed.

  1. Heh, I would buy the ddr3 2000, but I've spent enough and my 1600 should do fine.
