One month ago, MSI plugged some AMD chips into its X-Slim X600 notebook and birthed the model X610. In a similar move this week, the computer-maker has introduced a made-over version of its X400. Just like before, the X400 has been outfitted with AMD parts and appropriately renamed X410.
MSI's X-Slim X410 features a 14" 1366x768 (16:9) LCD display, an AMD Athlon Neo CPU, a single DIMM slot occupied by 2GB of DDR2 800MHz RAM (supports up to 4GB), an ATI Radeon X1250 GPU, a 320GB or 500GB HDD, and an external DVD or Blu-ray drive.
Other specs include a 1.3-megapixel webcam, gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n, optional Bluetooth, two USB 2.0 ports, VGA and HDMI-out, a two-in-one card reader, and a four or eight-cell battery. Battery included, the X410 weighs about 1.5kg (or 3.3lbs), and is only 24.5mm thick (just under an inch).
The X410 will ship with Vista Premium, but being that Windows 7 is just around the corner, I assume that will be an option. No word on pricing or availability – though, it is probably safe to bank on a pre-holiday launch.
