Manic Miner
Lets see you lot top that
First game was the "Star Trek" game on an Intel development system running either ISIS or CPM (it could boot to either - I don't recall which one Star Trek was on). Next was the 550 point Adventure game followed by LADDERS, the best computer game ever (played on a 9600 baud serial terminal to a CPM computer). You can get a java based LADDERS game today and play it on your PC, it's very close to the original.
my first PC had like nibbles gorilla on QBASIC... IBM Cat, F1, OperationWolf, PreHistoric....
good old games... wolfenstein3D.. loadrunner.. rick dangerous... chaos engine...
MS Flight Sim 3 on a Tandy 1000SL.
Played game off the 1 of 2 floppy disks (5 1/4), disk 2 was scenery disk.
I was way to young to remember what game I played and on what console. It was Pre-Nintendo
Adventure on a big DEC
I still remeber the day my father came home with a Original NES, it came with Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt. I remeber being sooooo excitied. The first game I ever played was Duck Hunt (mainly because I wanted to try out that awesome looking gun) haha.
Pong and then Asteroids/Defender on Atari
I think it was 1984 or so. A friend had a Commodore 64. I stayed up until 3:am playing Zork. A few weeks later I bought my first Apple //c and never looked back. As far as video type games, (Zork was all text) I think it was probably one of the Kings Quest games.
Quake, the first one, on a Pentium 100Mhz and 16 mb of ram
I would probably say "Tank (Battle City)" the console we used that time was "Family Game", there's a good post in the internet of games I played when I was a kid. Great games, indeed.
first game was Pong, played forever with my dad that he actually called into work the next day so we coudl play even more, ot me hooked. Favorite game came years later. M.U.L.E, gotta love the music on it.
Man, you guys are young! My first video game was PONG! I played it on a Magnavox video game system hooked up to our family's first 25 inch Magnavox console color TV in 1975
PONG FTW !!!
p.s. I remember, had to slit open and modify parent's tv set to connect this beast.....
Pole Position on Atari 2600, followed shortly by missile command, defender, asteroids, and montezuma's revenge. Still have 'em.
Honestly, I have no idea what the first video game I ever played was. But I am pretty sure that those old Star Wars Lucas Learning games like Droid Works were near the top though.
neverhood pc
Nigel Mansell racing on the SNES
Space Invaders too had colour bands placed over the screen ( in the original arcade machines ) and the controllers -joy stick and missile fire buttons- were always slow to respond
I remember playing a game called Blitz on the Commodore Vic20, it was amazing. It came in print form in the user manual and you had to type it in and then save it using the funky tape recorder that came with the machine (or optionally type it in each time you wanted to play the game)....... I do believe that the Vic 20 had 4K of RAM.
Oh yeah, before you think about it, please don't go and buy a Vic 20 Manual and try to re-live the glory days thinking that its all roses and butterflies, it took me almost 5 days to debug the code after I had typed it in.
Pong at an airport console one day only, but Leisure Suit Larry in Lost Wages was the first I actually spend any time on. After that, nothing has been interesting.
Solitare
