Intel to use Office 11 to push HT technology

THE WINTEL ALLIANCE will move into [URL=http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=8013]fifth gear[/URL] for the introduction of its hyperthreading technology across the entire range of its Pentium 4 desktop chips, it has emerged.

But the most interesting chunk of the HT push will be a scheme hatched with Microsoft which will use Office 11 as the engine, and somewhat bizarrely called the "Fellow Traveller" scheme. That means that both Microsoft and Intel will demo the claimed benefits of Office 11 and hyperthreading at selected industry venues.
