Just Cause 3 is already one of the most highly-anticipated video games of the year. Yet for some reason, Square Enix has decided that exploring the expansive open-world of its upcoming title isn't enough. You need to explore a real-life island... like the one they're giving away.

Wait, what?

Those who pick up a "Day One Edition" of Just Cause 3 for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One have the opportunity to win their very own real-life island.

With the game in hand, interested parties will need to visit the island contest page on December 1 and register for or sign into their Square Enix Members Account. After linking your PlayStation Network / Xbox Live account, you'll need to enter the code inside your copy of the game to complete registration.

From there, you've got 90 days to earn as many in-game Chaos Points as possible. The individual at the top of the leaderboard when the contest comes to a close will win their very own island.

Square Enix points out that the contest is open to residents of the US (excluding Puerto Rico), Canada (excluding Quebec), Mexico and Chile only. Winners may also opt for a cash-equivalent prize of $50,000 instead of the island (those in Mexico are only eligible for the cash prize).

The fine print notes that the location of the island will be determined by the sponsor and that the winner will be responsible for all taxes and fees associated with purchasing and obtaining the island. What's more, there's no guarantee that the island will be inhabitable, developed or reachable by any means other than a boat.
