Earlier this month we shared an iPhone video experiment dubbed Centriphone in which Swiss freeskier Nicolas Vuignier created an impressive bullet time effect of himself hitting the slopes using only an iPhone 6. With more than 3.6 million views already, Vuignier's clip has emerged as one of the leading viral videos of 2016.

The smartphone was obviously attached to some sort of rig twirled above his head but the specifics have remained a mystery... until now.

Vuignier has published a new "Making of" video that details the sheer amount of time and effort that went into creating the custom rig. Rather than try to describe the construction of the Centriphone, you'd be best served to simply watch the clip above.

If you're interested in giving the rig a shot, Vuignier will gladly accept your pre-order for either the original Centriphone for iPhone 6 / 6s or a Centripro which accommodates a GoPro 3, 3+ or 4. Each is priced at roughly $39 and includes the handle and strings needed to swing it overhead. Vuignier says shipping for both models will begin in April.

Vuignier has also made the project open source for the DIY type, offering up the original files so you can print your own rig should you happen to have a 3D printer.
