Asus Extreme Radeon HD 4850 review

When testing Devil May Cry 4 with the AA/AF settings disabled the Radeon HD 4850 looks impressive, defeating the GeForce 9800 GTX, while matching the performance of the new 9800 GTX+. On a side note, you will see that the GeForce 9800 GX2 does very poorly in this game, there appears to be a few SLI issues at the moment. That being the case, the Radeon HD 3870 X2 and GeForce GTX 280 cards are left to battle it out for first place.
Turning on just 4xAA in Devil May Cry 4 really mixed things up, as this setting for some reason appeared to neutralize Crossfire support. This cemented the lead of the GeForce GTX 280, followed by the Radeon HD 4850, which was able to outmuscle the GeForce 9800 GTX+ in this test. The original 9800 GTX was 10fps slower at 1920x1200.
