Encoding Performance

Using HandBrake, we converted a 560MB mkv file to mp4 and measured the frame rate each processor achieved. We found the new Vision 3D Mini PC to be 28% faster than the Core 100HT-BD with 31fps versus 24fps. It also outperformed the Phenom II X2 560 machine.

The x264 HD Benchmark 3.0 was used to measure the performance of a 2-pass 1280x720 encoding, again displaying the results in a frame per second format. Although the software favored the AMD Phenom II X2 560 HTPC, the Asrock Vision 3D was 13% faster than the Core 100HT-BD.

Using TMPGEnc, we converted a 715MB avi file to mpg and measured the time it took for each processor to complete the task. The Asrock Vision 3D was king beating the Core 100HT-BD by a convincing 12% margin, taking just 15 minutes and 16 seconds to complete the conversion.
