Power Consumption

AMD has been working hard to improve the operating efficiency of its processors, and it has achieved some impressive results with the Phenom II X6 parts. Considering what we have seen from the Phenom II X4, we weren't looking forward to seeing how power hungry the chip would be with another two cores, but the results are very impressive.

The Phenom II X6 1100T consumed 10.5% less power than the Phenom II X4 965 at idle and it only used slightly more under full load. Meanwhile, the X6 1100T pulled 2.6% less power than the Core i5 750 and used a bit more than the Phenom II X6 1090T.
