Samsung Creates 82-Inch TFT LCD
Dispelling the notion that TFT displays cannot reach sizes attained by plasma or rear-projection televisions, Samsung have unveiled a monster; they have built the world's largest TFT LCD display for TV. The monster LCD measures 82 inches, and will be shown at CeBIT in Germany this week. Boasting a 1200:1 contrast ratio and 8ms response time, the LCD TV is the first developed by S-LCD - a joint venture between Samsung and Sony.
