After getting off to a fairly shaky start, Netscape 8 is in trouble again. This time, Microsoft (surprise, surprise!) claims that the new browser breaks certain XML configurations in Internet Explorer. The company is recommending that users do not install it. Well, isn't that a big surprise too?

AOL, on the other hand, although fully acknowledging the issue, don't think its quite that serious. Spokesman Andrew Weinstein maintained that the problem would only affect a small number of IE users, and that a fix would be on the way soon.

"We are actively working on a fix, and we hope to deploy an automatic patch to users that will address it next week," Weinstein told Ziff Davis Internet News.

"Pending that resolution, users do not need to uninstall their browser or take any other action," he added.
