everytime i go to print out lecture slides for uni i have to change the settings so it prints it as handouts 6 per page and make it so it prints in just black and white. is there somewhere which i can save these settings so i dont have to change them everytime??

Install the same printer for the second time, give it another name (like 6-page printer), set it to the way you want and save it.
Next time print to that printer instead of your normal one.
