NFS Shift crashes

nfs shift crashes at test lap. My computer exceeds the minimum requirements to run this game but still the game crashes at test lap. It runs for 5-10 sec then it crashes.Please help me i am getting restless to play this game.
Intel core 2 Duo 2.8 ghz,4gb ddr 2 ram,nvidia geforce 8400 gs 512mb,win xp 32bit service pack 3 & latest directx,drivers.

Processor Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 Ghz
RAM 4 GB DDR2
nvidia GeForce 8400 GS with 512 mb RAM
OS Win xp 32 bit service pack 3

I have tried reinstalling both game & drivers
I have also tried updating my drivers but still game crashes. All other games work well only this one crashes.The game does start it crashes after the test lap starts I have kept the graphic settings to default & tried the most minimum settings too nothing seems to work.
