Hello.

Here is my config:
WinXP SP1
MB Gigabyte 8IPE1000
HD Maxtor PATA 80 Gb

I have following problem:
When I try to install to my system Samsung SATA HD, in the BIOS it says - OK.
But when the windows logs in, it every time finds: "Primary IDE controller", "Secondandary IDE Controller", plus one more "IDE controller" for which it fails to install drivers "Driver is not tailored to work on this platform"...

In the DeviceManager 2items "IDE controller" are marked with yellow "!"

However, the new HD is located, and works.

Please advise.

Have you tried downloading & install the Intel Application Accelerator "RAID edition" (http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/Detail_Desc.asp?agr=N&ProductID=961&DwnldID=6868) ? It should help you install the proper SATA drivers for your system (i865).
