I've had my pc for about three or four years now, and been quite happy with it. But, with the large advancements in cpu's, mine is looking very crappy. I have an Asus A7A266 motherboard, with an x86 Family 6 model 4 Stepping AuthenticAMD 1141 Mhz processor. Now the real question is, can i actually overclock this thing. I heard many rumors about AMD processors being overclocked but with an insane amount of heat. I also recently bought four new DC brushless fans. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

I guess it is always better to read the guidelines and so on before posting. It seems i cannot post here about the overclock, i would have to take this into the cooling section(i don't know why). But, rules are rules and i do apologize for any inconvenice that i may have caused.

I suggest you don't. Be happy with working parts.

if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I would suggest building a second system to experiement.
I still use my old system for chores like word processing, school, etc...
You don't want to risk killing a good system.
