some games are just TOO hard without 'em!

Or... its a game that can't be beaten. (I know we are talking about PS2 and probably all games for it can be beaten).

But some of the old games on other systems weren't beatable, they just became faster and faster, or repeated levels.

You're right. There are some games that are next to impossible without cheats.
