Im thinking of downloading a virtual Dvd drive program, so I can play games without a disk, to test a problem I'm having at the moment. ANy good ones or ones that are easy to set up?
My Problem: PC freezes in newer games
Possibilities.
DVD Drive- Freezing accompanied by whir from drive, only new games that require a disk (e.g. not Half-life 2)freeze. This is why I want to test a virtual drive, if this is the problematic hardware than the virtual drive will eliminate it.
Motherboard-Unlikely because older games and other programs run fine.
RAM- I have 256mb PC2100 and 512mb PC2700. Known to cause problems when combined types.
realblackstuff reckons its the RAM and it is the most likely, but everyone else whos had two types of RAM experienced reboots?
