After installing Norton System Works Premier 2005 today I have lost connectivity with my Server and linked stations. I think I need to allow something in the Norton Settings, but dont know how. Any guidance very gratefully received

Does NSW 2005 come with a firewall?

If so, you may have blocked connectivity from your network. I don't know the steps to change this, but Norton products tend to be pretty intuitive - It shouldn't be too difficult to figure out.

You'll probably be looking for an address (or address) simliar to 192.168.0 or 192.168.1 or 192.168.2. But these numbers can vary greatly.

you'd be doing yourself a favor if you avoided NSW altogether. unless, that is, you just have to have it.

your machine will be well protected (and not bogged down by bloatware) by the following:

AVG free edition (free.grisoft.com) this is a fantastic antivirus software

sygate personal firewall (http://soho.sygate.com/products/spf_standard.htm) this is an equally fantastic firewall

both are totally free

As Sygate is being discontinued after Norton purchased them another good free choice would be Kerio Personal Firewall...
