I'm running Windows XP Pro and am constantly getting the BSOD:

Error code 100000d1, parameter1 8ae24f00, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000008, parameter4 8ae24f00
(obtained from Event Viewer)

Someone please help me with this problem. I have attached 5 minidumps as a zip file.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

3 minidumps crash at portcls.sys. This is the Windows Port Class (Class Driver for Port/Miniport Devices).

2 minidumps crash at NOWMEMDF.sys. I can find no info for this file. Do you recognise it?

All your minidumps crash with a bigcheck of D1. It may be that you have a ram/pagefile problem.

0x000000D1: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

The system attempted to access pageable memory using a kernel process IRQL that was too high. The most typical cause is a bad device driver (one that uses improper addresses). It can also be caused by caused by faulty or mismatched RAM, or a damaged pagefile.

Go HERE (http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic51365.html) and follow the instructions.

I tried everything and for a couple days it seemed like the BSOD problem was fixed. Then today another BSOD. It's driving me crazy. What else can I try? It looks like portcls.sys is the file causing the most problems. Attached is my most recent minidump.

Your latest minidump crashes at portcls.sys and has a bugcheck of D1.

Try updating your sound drivers and see if that helps.

If it doesn`t, maybe a Windows repair might help. See HERE. (http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic8356.html) for instructions.

Regards Howard :)
