Hey, recently, i have grown quite bored of all my PC games (BF2, BF2142, CSS, HL2, Doom 3 mostly) and i am looking for a game that can keep me entertained until games like UT 2007, and quake wars start coming out (Can't Wait!) So if anyone has any suggestions, please post.

PS. My computer is quite powerful, and i am sure that it can handle any game on the market nowdays, so dont let that get in the way :)

try half life (Day of Defeat) addon. Very addicting FPS!

Yeah, i already have HL2 and Day of defeat. I was thinking maybe getting WOW again, or Neverwinternights 2. and i am thinking about far cry. is that a pretty fun game?

If you have a very beefy PC, FEAR is a real awesome FPS game. Serious Sam 2 also rocks and is bargain bin right now.

If you're more in the mood for MMORPG, WoW is a good way to lose countless hours of sleep. :)

Another title that was pretty cool for single player was Fable. Yah, it's a console port but still has a lot of goodness in there.

To be honest mate if your getting bored of your current crop of games Far Cry really wont hold alot of thrills for you, FEAR is an excellent game, ive only played the demo but that rocked.

If your looking for something that really gonna keep you busy id suggest something like "The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion" an extremley massive open ended RPG that I find great fun not to mention its visually breathtaking views are pleanty.

If that doesnt take your fancy the most addictive game ive played since "Call Of Duty 2" has been "Rome: Total War" while its not everyones cup of tea I just cant get enough of the truly epic battles.

Yeah, i have all of those games that you just listed except for fear, and I'm thinking about that game. Maybe Day Of Defeat source. I have played the free weekends of that game, and it is really fun and fastpaced (plus it is only 20 dollars :)) that may be able to hold my gaming until UT and Quake Wars.

Grats Dilmog =)

Also Farcry is pretty fun if you have a great computer like Sharkfood said..

but if you can run Oblivion then you can run farcry on Ultra =D

Fear is probably the best FPS besides CoD, DoD and BF / CS series

FEAR is a breathtakingly awesome game. The best FPS experience I have had since HL. Also, Far Cry is pretty good (at least I think so) and Serious Sam 2 is pretty good too, though quite boring compared to the previous Serious Sam games. Deus Ex is awesome, as is Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. Try Oblivion and its predecessor, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

may i suggest a game called 'just cause' one of the newest games out only the demo is available at the moment i played it and i loved every second of it its like far cry mixed with gta. its about 500mb the installer came with pc power play dvd i beleive. anyways the first mission your given is to kill a guy. you immediatly start the game free falling so intense the graphics i would say are sitting on the medium level nothing over the top though the explosions are very realistic. good luck hope you enjoy!!!11

Hitman Contracts and Blood Money are two completley amasing games aswell although once completed there isnt much else to do with them which is a pitty. Some sort of Multiplayer option would be an advantage but anyway I digress....

Blood Money is an awesome game. And you can keep playing it over and over again and find new ways to accomplish missions. Highly recommended. Also try Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. I didn't really like Contracts though but give it a try, it's not too bad.

lol how could you not like contracts? I played all the Hitman games and the first one that got me so enthralled as to complete it was contracts, thought the others sucked! :) Each to his own though I suspect

Contracts was basically a rehash of the missions from the first Hitman game. They were just redone in the new graphics engine. The only original missions were: The Meat King's Party, a Rotterdam mission in which you had to kill a biker gang leader(can't seem to remember the name) and the last mission of the game. All the others were from the first game, Hitman: Codename 47. Silent Assassin is a lot better in terms of variety and storyline.

I have to disagree there.... sure most of the missions where revamps however they where much more open ended and well thought out compared to the originals, I thought it a great restart to the franchise and can not wait to see what comes next! I feel they can do no wrong with it after blood money

Rage_3K_Moiz

The only annoying thing in the first three games was 47's walk. I'm glad they fixed it for Blood Money though, it's very easily the best game in the whole series.

Now that I agree with... like I said I cant wait to see what comes next but then its hard to top a game where you assasinate the vice president of the USA...

For a couple of great old games try the whole Monkey Island series as well as Grim Fandango. Hilariously funny and great.

When I get tired of all the fps games I own I usally revert back to the "Age of Empires" series. Aos 3 has some nice graphics but the 1 and 2 are still lots of fun.

I cant abide the AOE series of games.... or any RTS game that has men with swords beating down buildings... etc Much prefer to total war series.... more fun and more realism! :)

Stop saying the Battlefield series.. He already has them =P

Well like Rage said Blood Money is probably the most awesome of the series because you can upgrade guns to how you want to kill them ( Silencers, Door penetrating bullets, Scopes and alot of cool stuff like that ) and depending on your style of killing will be reporting in the newspaper... the more you get caught on camera or make too much mess will raise your Notority and if you get to about 70-80 notority the guards will automaticly shoot at you on sight

So if you really like being sneaky and a ruthless killer ( for money ;) ) then go get Hitman: Blood Money =)

Cpt_Subtext
11-23-2006, 02:46 PM
Yeah the only thing that annoyed me about blood money was the lack of oppurtunity to use the sniper rifle... yes its the easy way out for most but I still felt it should have been more included

My most favorite Contract killing was the House of Cards because you can call the guy on the cell phone and he'll walk outside to get a better signal then... BAM! headshot then I run across the room to the door and pull the Firealarm to call the police and visitors outside to the elevators then I run into the other room where the next target was, When he was outside I pushed him over the rail to the floor below

Mission Complete ;)

Cpt_Subtext
11-24-2006, 12:19 PM
Yeah that was one of the better missions, my favourite though had to be taking out that federal witness who is having a party... my favourite way of killing him was planting a mine in that little cupboard going to his wife, knocking her out to get the necklace and when she gets discovered he automatically hides in there.... press the detonator and booooom! lol Security dont even get wise! heheh

Its an especially brutal way of getting the job done I find...... some love the gun, I love the bomb! :D

Cpt_Subtext
11-24-2006, 12:24 PM
Oh, as for another game suggestion why not Aliens Vs Predator 2, has to be one of the best shooters out there just unfortunetly the campaigns are too short.... least you get to play from all 3 view points though, Marine, alien and Predator.... The Alien campaign being the best thought out.... actually start off as a face hugger, jump a guy and then actually have to eat your way out of his chest etc..... so good!

TimeParadoX
11-24-2006, 01:10 PM
Yeah that mission was pretty fun, Usualy I take the pool boy's cloths and have some "fun" with the wife ;) then when she is asleep I Take her necklace and when the butler guy brings in a crate of food I place a bomb in it and when he goes back and puts another crate I blow that up for a distraction then the guy runs into a closet, I pull out my silverballer with silencer and door penetrating bullets. I go to a room and climb out of the window then I beat it =D

Also Prince of Persia is pretty fun

Cpt_Subtext
11-24-2006, 01:33 PM
Prince of Persia is a series of games I just cant get into.....often find the camera angles annoying or a acrobatic puzzle I just cant do.. lol

What I really want to see is another game like Severance:Blade Of Darkness.... the only hack and slash game ive ever played and loved!

TimeParadoX
11-24-2006, 01:45 PM
Lol severance was pretty cool! ( I still play it ;) )

Well depending on what games Dilmog likes... Personaly I love the Call of Duty series for computer and the Brothers in Arms because they both got really in-depth and if you have a good system then you can run on ultra =)

Cpt_Subtext
11-24-2006, 01:51 PM
Yes I love the Call Of Duty Games, and was shocked to find that when throwing a grenade through a window to kill some germans they chucked it back out at my feet! lol My system was good enough to play even the latest games despite being 3 years old but couldnt play em on ultra... :S

Ohwell hopefully when I get a new one that will change! :D

TimeParadoX
11-24-2006, 02:39 PM
Lol yeah one time I was just sitting there with a sniper rifle and this guy was running along the building so I threw a grenade and he freaking threw it back at me :haha:

How about buy GTA: Vice City? It's still an awsome game!

Cpt_Subtext
11-24-2006, 06:01 PM
Vice City did rock but it falls short when compared to San Andreas I feel and even that im not particularly fond of these days. The way the police just ram into you to make you explode is just annoying... :S Not to mention the endless supplies of Police helicopters lol...Only so many rockets a guy can carry! :)

TimeParadoX
11-24-2006, 06:35 PM
Lol yeah San Adreas is alot better then the other GTA series because it's more In-depth and you can actualy costumize your character with Afros and make him fat and lazy :haha:

Hey guys, i finally made up my mind, and i'm going with farcry. i have heard alot of good things about this game, and i wanna get a little taste of what Crysis might be feeling like. but thanks for all of your suggestions and time! ^_^

TimeParadoX
11-25-2006, 03:49 AM
Good choice... Make sure to get all the farcrys so you can play them all because the 1st one was kinda boring but the 2nd ( or 3rd.. dont remember which ) you can turn into a predator and go crazy on the enemy with your fist :haha:

I just play the 1st farcry for fun because it was super easy... Even on Realistic where you can die in like 1 shot and the Ragdoll effects for when you blow someone up was funny because you could send a person flying 7896453789518645 miles in the air when you hit them with a knife :haha:

Cpt_Subtext
11-25-2006, 03:50 PM
Yeah to be honest I never bothered clocking it, got too bored after a while although the thing with the hang glider was pretty cool... pitty you couldnt just get enough speed to fly that around the island! lol

try guildwars i relly like it:)

TimeParadoX
11-26-2006, 03:08 PM
Booooo guildwars sucks :haha:

Well it sortof does unles you like to run around with the most choppy of Wall styles and the PVP really sucks unles it's a pre-made round ( like when you and all your friends get on Ventrillo or something and plan it out )

I would rather play Runescape :D ( Joke )
