the nVidia 8800 can run any game!!!
Zurles 12-15-2006, 06:33 PM yup!, edited
kitty500cat 12-15-2006, 07:36 PM Nice case and PSU! I think about all the reviews I've read about that power supply are that it's awesome. Also, that case looks excellently cool (if excellent has an adverb form :D)
Looks to me like an excellent system overall. Also, if you got the budget for it, I would definitely recommend the nVidia 8800GTX.

Zurles 12-15-2006, 08:36 PM damn, can someone help me i'm confused with the difference of
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/120325
MSI 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 DVI TVout PCI-E
&
http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?quicklinx=4BG0
XFX GeForce 8800GTX 768MB DDR3 PCIE Dual DVI TVo
whats the difference, which is better, the one picutred first in the one on the
home page of techspot, the hecks the second one, why are there 2 of the same thing, I'M CONFFUZZLED
kitty500cat 12-15-2006, 08:43 PM The circuit board on the cards is made by different manufacturers, one by XFX and one by MSI. but the chipset on both cards is made by nVidia. it's like a motherboard and processor: the motherboard is made by whatever company, but the processor is an AMD or Intel. So, the "motherboard" (the main card) is made by XFX or MSI or any other company, but the "processor" is made by nVidia or ATi (in this case nVidia).
The nVidia GeForce 8800GTX is the actual graphics processor, just like an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+. but the MSI part is just the circuit board.
I hope this makes sense ;)

Zurles 12-15-2006, 09:19 PM so the only difference is the look?, another question i have for my computer is about windows vista, i want it. site says its widely available january 30th, so shall i get all my parts, get windows vista at january 30th and install that as the
os?
TimeParadoX 12-15-2006, 09:24 PM You shouldnt install vista day of release because there is currently alot of bugs in the OS, Wait about 2-3 months after the OS is released befor actualy getting it
Also what you asked about MSI / XFX 8800s, like Kitty said they are just by diffrent companies but I would go with XFX because they make quality videocards and MSI is more towards Motherboards and stuff like that
Hope I helped :)
Jesse_hz 12-15-2006, 09:26 PM so shall i get all my parts, get windows vista at january 30th and install that as the os?
Yes, if that's what you want. You could also wait a couple of months for the price to come down, though I heard you can get XP Media Center CDs with free upgrade to Vista Home Premium at newegg for cheap.
Grafficks 12-15-2006, 09:31 PM Different graphics board manufacturers also include extra features onto the cards they make, such as overclocking and different type of cooling. Between those two choices, I would go with the XFX one.
Good luck with your build, looks like it's gonna be very powerful :)
TimeParadoX 12-15-2006, 09:46 PM I agree with Grafficks, it will be very powerful! :D
Cpt_Subtext 12-15-2006, 10:57 PM I agree also... cant wait to get mine! :)

Zurles 12-16-2006, 09:05 AM that card will fit in my case right, and my power supply is strong enough to power it all right?
sghiznaneck 12-16-2006, 09:35 AM I upgraded my system and installed the XFX 8800 GTX card. I installed it in an EVGA NForce 4 590 SLI Board, and I'll have to tell you, I have a mid tower ATX and it fit, but a little snug. I put an Ultra 700 watt psu in it, and tried to tax the hell out of it, but it's just flying along. I've had no problems so far and am pretty pleased with the performance. I can now play Oblivion on high settings. Looks amazing and I no longer have any slow down during combat.
TimeParadoX 12-16-2006, 09:59 AM Great Sghiznaneck!
Yes Zurles, your stuff will fit your case because it's a Full Tower ATX case so it will have alot of room to hold every part :D
Zurles 12-16-2006, 01:34 PM just going over every detail to make sure nothing can go wrong, is a lot of money
Zurles 12-16-2006, 06:10 PM how much does vista cost, nvm 45 dollars, accident doublepost, and also, when i build this new computer how do i go about having an internet connection in it, will it have the internet port in the back of its computer like mine has or do i need to do somethiing special and anoying >.<, btw i'm ordering this computer at the start of february when vista is released, gives me time to accumulate and speculate
TimeParadoX 12-16-2006, 09:05 PM What you do is you get a internet card ( Linkys or something ) that is a PCI card and you put it into one of the PCI cards then you call your ISP ( Internet Service Provider ) then you ask them to set up all the fancy stuff like the IP, Gateway and all that.
You get a Router ( same number / letter as you, Say you get a Linkys G you have to get a Linkys G Router ) then you set it somewhere in your house near your computer ( Most routers have a 30' radius )
Hope I helped :)
If it's too confusing to read my setup guide got to this website:
http://www.pcworld.com/video/id,368-page,1-bid,0/video.html
It has a video on how to set up the Wi-Fi connection ;)

most of that is worded badly and doesn't make sense, my computer right now is wired to my router and connects to the internet through a small socket in the back of my computer, how do i get that on my new one.
Jesse_hz 12-17-2006, 01:47 PM Dual Gigabit LAN
The integrated dual Gigabit LAN design allows a PC to serve as a network gateway for managing traffic between two separate networks. This capability ensures rapid transfer of data from WAN to LAN without any added arbitration or latency.
I don't think you need anything else. Link (http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=307&model=1179&modelmenu=1)
Zurles 12-17-2006, 02:20 PM is that the same as my motherboard?
kitty500cat 12-17-2006, 02:22 PM Hot cats, TimeParadoX! That build there's something pretty serious! If only I got paid a bit more per hour at my job...:)
--kitty
zerocoolzz66 12-17-2006, 02:28 PM One thing, What is the Ram spec for that motherboard? I went to the website that was provided, but it didn't give off anything (like PC3200 400 mhz).
Jesse_hz 12-17-2006, 02:45 PM To me, "ASUS P5B DLX/WIFI-AP" and "P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP" look the same.

Dual-Channel DDR2 800
DDR2 is the next generation memory technology to replace the current DDR. With the highest speed up to 800MHz, DDR2 memory provides great performance for 3D graphics and other memory demanding applications.
Zurles 12-17-2006, 03:09 PM my question still unanswered, i mean, ok.. this is how it is now:
computer has a phone-line like thing in the back, you plug the wire it, connection works
my connection i beleive is ADSL
it runs off a phoneline, connection speed maxes out at 2 gig
i already have a 3com wireless router with 3 computers able to get a connection from it, 2 wireslessly and mine wired.
i want my new computer to be exactly like this one in the way the internet works, i want to be able to plug this line into the back and the connection to go through. the thing i am confused about is
will my new computer have the phoneline like port in the back from my connection.
if not how do i get one
if i cant what is the alternative
would i need a member from my isp company to do it for me
what exactly do i need to install and configure so that my new computer's connection will be like this one.
sorry for the mass questions 8D just confused
edit:
Memory Supported RAM Technology DDR II SDRAM
Supported RAM Integrity Check Non-ECC
RAM Installed ( Max ) 0 MB / 8 GB (max)
Supported RAM Speed PC2-4300, PC2-6400, PC2-5300
RAM Features Unbuffered, two DDR channels
is the ram info of my mobo
Jesse_hz 12-17-2006, 03:18 PM my question still unanswered
Huh? I thought I answered that.
In short: YES IT WILL. (if all the info you've given us is correct, then yes)
You see, the motherboard you are planning on buying has "gigabit lan" which is what you call "phoneline like port". Dual means it's got two.
zerocoolzz66 12-17-2006, 03:29 PM Uhhh, my question was never anwsered. Unless you guys don't know, then we need to find out what it is, so he doesn't get ram that isn't compatible with the motherboard.
zerocoolzz66 12-17-2006, 03:30 PM Scratch that, I just noticed edited part.
TimeParadoX 12-17-2006, 04:25 PM most of that is worded badly and doesn't make sense, my computer right now is wired to my router and connects to the internet through a small socket in the back of my computer, how do i get that on my new one.
Lol yes I know I word alot of stuff wrong, im not a very good at spelling ;)
Zurles 12-17-2006, 08:17 PM .... "phoneline like port".....
sweet
.
Zurles 12-18-2006, 09:48 AM heres the pdf file for the case
http://image.ebuyer.com/customer/pdf/UK/D118268.pdf
card will definatly fit right? its 27.5 cm accross, and does anyone know the best graphics card for an agp 8x slot, my friend wants to upgrade his computer
TimeParadoX 12-18-2006, 07:45 PM Yes it will fit, dont worry! :D
The best card for a x4/x8 ( the slot he has ) would have to be the ATI x1600xtx
Bravo Edition ( as I heard ;) ) or the nVidia 7800
Zurles 02-16-2007, 01:43 PM K guys, im back...
comp isnt made yet, slight problem. money went down.
i have exactly $1,835.84536 now,
or £939.58, and remember i have to buy all these things from uk, which is basicly like 30% more expensive that US.
so what can i change to lower the cost to this but still run new games max GFX NP?
