He who has never failed somewhere, that man can not be great.

. Herman Melville

Ethics is what you do when nobody is watching.

"Behind every great fortune there is a crime"

is ascribed to both Voltaire (François-Marie Arouet (21 November 1694 – 30 May 1778), a French Enlightenment writer, essayist, deist and philosopher known for his wit. But also by Honore de Balzac (1799-1850) a famous French writer... he must have copied from Voltaire, right?

Same country - France - 20 years apart. Interesting point on ethics, perhaps?

Ethics is what you do when nobody is watching.

Or, because the good lord is watching ?

Suppose an poor, old lady dropped a $100 note/bill. And no one saw you pick it up, would you return it to her?

Now suppose a thug dropped a $1000 bill. And no one saw you pick it up, would you return it to him?

Sorry. I do not do philosophy on Friday, as that is my day off.

Nope on both accounts, sorry but its tough luck if you lose money no matter what the circumstances.

A side thought, originally I started this thread with the intention of posting a new quote each day...

There has now been enough quotes from you fantastic bunch to last a year, so i guess that makes me redundant.

I like that because i have little success but some value to people (mainly cos i help them) Also, you can use your value to be successful if your valuable to the right people

I think he is just pointing out so far how many people have read the posts, so far it averages at 8 views per post, that is 1275 divided by 152, I think that next to that post in mobile computing about dell passwords and some of the other stickes and advice posts it has to be one of the most viewed posts I think.
