hamas123 08-22-2007, 08:38 AM whats your favourite messenger, mine is windows live, how about you. howard_hopkinso 08-22-2007, 08:53 AM Yahoo messenger, used it for years. Regards Howard :) Ad 08-22-2007, 08:53 AM hamas123 08-22-2007, 02:09 PM i forgot to say yahoo aswell because i've always used that,it's got a good layout like windows live.i dont like the other messengers layout.but i use windows live because all my contacts use that and i like having two email addresses+you make your own space so contacts can see your profile and you can see theirs.yahoo's got unlimited storage though. TimeParadoX 08-22-2007, 11:20 PM I don't use any of those messengers except for Xfire, so I can talk while in game without having to alt tab to talk or make your game go to windowed mode :( jtickner1 08-23-2007, 12:26 AM windows live and xfire Nodsu 08-23-2007, 04:58 AM It kind of depends on what everyone else is using, doesn't it? I mean, if all your friends are on Yahoo!, then liking and using AIM would be kind of pointless, wouldn't it? I prefer third party messengers myself. The official ones tend to be huge bloated ad(spy)waring beasts. Pidgin is a nice thing that lets me be on 5 networks for the price of one program instead of having to run 5x30MB monsters. hamas123 08-23-2007, 08:38 AM With the new yahoo you can instant message and add hotmail poeple, poeple who use windows messenger or msn which is the same thing but different version.Msn has changed aswell because With windows LIVE you can add poeple who don't have hotmail. jtickner1 08-23-2007, 08:55 AM It kind of depends on what everyone else is using, doesn't it? I mean, if all your friends are on Yahoo!, then liking and using AIM would be kind of pointless, wouldn't it? yeah thats true, the only reason i started with msn was cause all my friends had it, i have used aim and stuff but i reckon that there not as good as msn/windows live AlbertLionheart 08-23-2007, 10:19 AM I must be a real luddite - I have so far avoided using any of them. Email and the implied immediacy of that is enough for me. Nodsu 08-23-2007, 03:00 PM Msn has changed aswell because With windows LIVE you can add poeple who don't have hotmail.Uhm.. One has never needed a Hotmail account to use MSN or Windows Messenger. It's just a dirty Microsoft trick making people believe that. Ad 08-23-2007, 03:00 PM hamas123 08-23-2007, 03:18 PM microsoft are really wanting to be at the top, making the elite after they saw the ps3 and cooling systems for the xbox360. But you can add yahoo! poeple, dunno about the others because i haven't tried other ones. God Of Mana 08-29-2007, 09:26 AM Hey people! Can we please get back on topic? ^_^" Yahoo IM AlbertLionheart 08-29-2007, 11:42 AM Yes - I hate Yahoo. Is that good enough? SNGX1275 08-29-2007, 11:59 AM Adium (http://www.adiumx.com/) and Trillian (www.trillian.cc) magiclight 12-04-2007, 02:13 AM i use MSN live, but again only because most of the people i know do hamas123 12-04-2007, 12:03 PM Do ya think i care??!..? :D LuckyM 12-05-2007, 08:52 AM i used to use icq for years, and now my fave is skype, although it become not so comfortable as it used to be after the last updates :( Rik 12-05-2007, 09:04 AM I don't really have a favourite. All the different ones I have tried have had thier own problems and nuances. I use windows live messenger, yahoo messenger, and occasionally skype. I basically use the ones all my friends use really. caravel 12-05-2007, 09:22 AM I have always used and still use gaim which is now called pidgin (http://www.pidgin.im/). Exonimus 12-05-2007, 10:24 AM aMSN. Since I'm on ubuntu. I love pidgin, but all my friends use msn messenger, and I really don't need to be on other networks.. therefore, I use aMSN mostly. hamas123 12-05-2007, 01:31 PM I've never heard of pidgin before, can you add msn poeple with it? ;) I used to use yahoo and i like it, but my contacts use hotmail so i use windows live. But you can add msn poeple on yahoo. Daveskater 12-05-2007, 02:03 PM I use Windows Live Messenger and have used MSN for years before that. I originally stared IM'ing my cousin in Hong Kong over Yahoo but he got a hotmail account so started using MSN so i did the same :D I also have installed the MSN Plus (http://www.msgpluslive.com/) add-on which adds loads of features :) (link should be right, i did it from memory ;)) LuckyM 12-06-2007, 04:48 AM I basically use the ones all my friends use really. me too, i guess that's the point of using one or another messenger. there's no point in installing msn while only 3 friends of mine use it. skype is preferred in my worplace and in the last place i worked in we had to use Gaim. My parents prefer ICQ and most friends from my university has it, so i have it as well, cos i need to communicate with these people! i must say i have plenty of contacts on icq and only the best friends and family on skype, so when i prefer not to talk to people i barely know, i turn off the icq, but the most close people still can find me. hamas123 12-06-2007, 12:16 PM I have skype installed on my computer, but never used it for monthssss. M0ntG0M3rY 01-03-2008, 08:47 PM Windows Live Messenger, ICQ, Skype and Google Talk, of course! :-) ShipMaster 01-03-2008, 11:23 PM STEAM, the one with VALVe games... hamas123 01-05-2008, 01:43 PM I have Yahoo!, Skype, Windows live and google talk installed on my computer. But i only use windows live because my contacts use it. eazy_duz_em 01-05-2008, 02:17 PM i use a pigeon...a real one...just like the old times... Myzz617 01-05-2008, 09:49 PM Im used t using AIM, but prefer YIM. MSN is not bad but most of the ppl i kno are on AIM. Theres a program that allows ppl 2 use aim and yim idk about msn ppl but I'm not positive if it still exists. fenderguy2112 01-06-2008, 06:46 PM I use pidgin, which is build off of a program called gaim. Myzz617 01-08-2008, 03:52 PM Bro u spelled Favorite wrong, well in english u did :D M0ntG0M3rY 01-08-2008, 04:02 PM Bro u spelled Favorite wrong, well in english u did :D Bro, favorite = american favourite = british MetalX 01-08-2008, 10:46 PM Bro, favorite = american favourite = british Correction. Favorite = American Favourite = Rest of the World (which includes Canada! ;)) I use Windows Live, but for some reason it occasionally disconnects my internet. It causes my router to lose connection, and I have no idea why. It doesn't happen at any usual time, or when anything happens in the program, it just randomly occurs. So I'm going to try this "Pidgin" and see if it's any better. Myzz617 01-09-2008, 08:38 AM Interesting hexxvoid 01-18-2008, 11:25 AM Trillian or XFire :D Epicene501 03-31-2008, 05:00 PM Windows Live Messenger ;) hamas123 04-02-2008, 10:16 AM Bro u spelled Favorite wrong, well in english u did :D Not spelled, spelt ;). Present tense: Spell. Past tense: Spelt. SNGX1275 04-02-2008, 10:24 AM Spelled is correct according to Merriam-Webster (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/spell) and Random House. (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/spell) AlbertLionheart 04-02-2008, 10:58 AM Spelled is the correct spelling, spoken properly is said as spelt. Don't you know! Everlong18 04-03-2008, 09:44 AM "Spelt" is English version, and "Spelled" is the American-English version I think :P Obi-Wan Jerkobi 04-03-2008, 09:40 PM Google Talk because most of my friends have gmail accounts so I can IM them while they check their email. |
