Firefox doesn't change color of visited links

I have been using Firefox for a couple of years, and now using the latest version, 2.0.0.9.
I started to notice that none of the links change color after I have visited them. This is very annoying, especially when doing Google searches.

I have tried changing the properties in options, but nothing makes any difference.

Should I uninstall (completely) and re-install?

Thanks

The current version is 2.0.0.10 but it`s just a security update,

not a link color change bug fix update.:D

I don`t have the link problem, but I have lost my mouse over tooltips.

Make sure your history hasn`t been disabled.Tools/Options/Privacy

Try Firefox (Safe Mode) It`s in your All programs menu.

To uninstall completely you must first save your bookmarks,

uninstall from Add/Remove,then delete your profile folder.

Thanks Po 'Girl;
I had my history unchecked. When I checked it, the visited links do change color, but it still appears that when I choose the color for visited links my setting is disregarded. I probably have the "allow sites to override" somewhere checked.

Thanks

evaluate: is this really important ?

link colors are configurable and can be disabled in some browsers.
