Hi everyone,
this is my first post but unfortunately its not a happy post :(
Basically my computer keeps on randomly restarting, what happens is that it comes up with a blue screen, with some wording on that i only managed to read "windows has an error" then it restarts giving you no time to read it, then when i 'm back onto the operating system it says: 'Windows has recovered from a serious error' and when i try and find out it goes onto Microsoft.com and says there is something up with a device driver, but gives me no details on how to solve the problem!
I then checked the 'Event Viewer' and it gave me what the system error was and a description of it, which is just below here:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: System Error

If anyone can help me with this, that would be fantastic!

Would it be worth me System Restoring it (or would it not do anything)?

Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump\minidump.dmp

And attach a few minidumps here. There are a few possibilities but its hard to tell exactly without seeing the exception codes. If you are lucky it's just a Faulty device driver or system service.

Go into Device manager -> In Device Manager, expand the Sound, video and game controllers node -> Look for Creative SoundBlaster Live (Value) device -> if there let me know it has corrupted drivers and needs to be removed and reinstalled

God love you! An Event Error copied correctly without my asking! You are to be commended!

The most common cause for this Event Error is a device driver. A common one is from Sonic. If you have the Sonic MyDVD program, search for tfsnpool.sys. Do a right click> Rename to tfsnpool.sysold. Disabling the Sonic DLA is also recommended.

To disable Sonic's DLA:
My Computer> right click on the DVD+RW device> Properties> DLA tab>
remove the check mark from "Enable DLA on your drives"> OK> Reboot.

Basically, this reflects a damaged device driver or system service.

Thanks!

THanks very much guys, that is really helpful, i think it was eventually that my cpu was overheating cause the fans were doing some strange things and there was a warning triangle next to my CPU on my gigabytes motherboard software. So i think its all good now :D, but thanks anyway!!!!

Thing is, we can only work with the information we're given. You said nothing about the fans.

that will do it everytime, I have seen where the wires from the psu just touch the cpu fan and will crash it. Anyways glad its fixed
