My game [NiBiRu- Age of Secrets] is malfunctioning
i just installed it yesterday
ive been dying to play it
and it works
just in SUPER slow mode
[the intro to the game is all talk and picture. it took an 43 minutes. i timed]
the dialog comes regularly
but spaced to go along with the extreme slowness of the graphic movements
ive done all the DxDiag stuff
all passed
any ideas on how to fix this slow mode screw up?
p.s. my cursor is slow too, except in the menu.
.thanks.

Hi Nicole,
Welcome to TechSpot
Seems you already found your way around, not bad for a beginner.
NiBiRu- Age of Secrets has a few optimizing options you can try:
Please Read Here:
http://www.adventurecompanygames.com/tac/support/pc/crash/My_game_crashes_to_the_desktop_or_freezes_randomly.php?pid=1&sid=42&gid=2
REDUCE SOUND ACCELERATION
and
REDUCE HARDWARE ACCELERATION
Possibly seem to be the best solution for you
:)

Thanks but it still doesnt work
i uninstalled/re installed
reduced sound acceleration
redused hardware acceleration
i checked the compatibility
nothing changed
it seems like its going even slower
but i think its just my eyes and my currently non-existant patience with this game...

There is one more in the list
Excuse the capitals, as I'm quoting the heading
RESTART YOUR COMPUTER USING A CLEAN-BOOT PROCEDURE
Did you try that ? Can you try that ?

This may in fact be your graphics card driver not loaded correctly
Are you able to update the drivers on your video card
This is done by visiting the manufactures support website
At this stage it may be worth while posting your system specs
ie
Motherboard (Asus; Dell; ...)
Addon Video Card (ie PCI-Express or AGP -manufacturer and model)
Memory (Your amount of Ram installed)
CPU (How fast is your computer in GHz)
Windows version (Vista; Xp)

still didnt work.
im so frustrated!
throwing my precious monitor at the wall and beating it with a fireplace poker would be wonderful stress relief...
ugh.
any more advice?
any at all?
[other than buy a new computer or disk, both are fairly new and good condition]

Hmm 384 Meg of Ram
Now I think I saw 128Meg for minimum specs for NI•BI•RU: Age of Secrets
But
You are likely running AntiVirus and windows firewall and a multitude of other things.
I think 384Meg is way to low (even for 128Meg min !)
I would suggest that you find out your Motherboard info (usually just download the users manual) and what type of Ram your computer takes.
I would say that you would require minimum 512 Meg of Ram (ideally extra)
I'm presently running 4000Meg of Ram (actually overkill I feel)
Do you think your computer is worth adding more Ram to it ? If so do it, you'll never look back.

OK that took me awhile too

AMD Athlon 1.3 GHz processor
Umm I think maybe it's not worth updating - too slow
You may think about updating the entire computer - Recommended for playing games
Therefore don't buy the Ram !

You have 384Meg,
Here a minimum amounts of Ram you are likely using
take away Ram used by Windows, say 80Meg, info here:
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=45111
take away Ram used by Antivirus, say around 30Meg
Depends on the Antivirus or Internet security program
take away Word or your Office program, say around 30Meg, info here:
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=45111
Now there a number of programs normally running:
Graphics; Sound; Email; Internet Explorer; Messenger and lots more
Lets just say take away another 60Meg Minimum
Most people usually have a printer, and also other USB attached software devices
Say, take away another 30Meg - approx (actually all of this is approx minimum)
Now you probably have 3rd party software, not just Microsoft stuff
Adobe; Nero; Photo editing software and a million others
Lets just say another 60Meg - unlikely I know - it should be more
So; so far we have:
384-80-30-30-30-60-30-60 leaves 64Meg of Ram !
And you haven't even got your new game going yet, which needs 128Meg Minimum.
Therefore
i still dont get why my Ram doesnt work
There isn't enough Ram !
And your computer is slow anyway, even if it had 1000Meg of Ram
1.3Ghz is way too slow
There you go.
