AD Users in Windows Server 2003
We have the following servers running:
Windows Server 2003 as Domain Controller Windows Server 2003 w/ Terminal Service and Citrix Presentation Server 3.0 Microsoft Exchange Server I am having the following problem: When I add a user in the "Active Directory Users" account, it does not create a "home" directory for them, nor does it create an email address. I have to manually do this. What is the proper way to add users to a domain? The administrator will not teach me the proper way, and he is often too busy to add people as they come in, usually taking a week. Any suggestions are helpful. |

Which version of Exchange is this? Exchange 2007 mailboxes have to be created separately using Exchange management tools. If it's an earlier version, then perhaps you are creating the users in the wrong OU?
As for "home" directories, then it depends on your specific setup. You can use folder redirection to arrange things so that a "home" directory is created for each user when they first log in. This is something that only the administrator can do though. If you are supposed to have this sort of behaviour already, then again, are you creating the user in the proper OU? |
