i have a dell inspiron 1300, the battery is in good working condition, the charger is also good. Apparently the mother is not taking charge, what shud i do?

The battery is not in good working condition. Replace it. If less than a year old, get it replaced under warranty.

I would change the battery. Next step - change the charger, third step take the laptop to a shop and get the internal voltage circuits checked.

Could be the power adapter. They have a bad habit of going bad secretly.
