I currently have a 250 Gb ATA HDD and I'm wondering if I should put my newly aquired 160 SATA, or if I should replace the 250 with the 160. I skeptical cuz another HDD will add more heat and take up more power. It is possible to have both though. Should I try both and see what happens? What do you guys think?

4 HDD's = 1x Sata (120Gb = XP), 3x Pata (80Gb = Vista, 2x 250Gb Stuff)

That 160 isn't going to be any faster than your 250. Likely slower.

Yes its possible to use both, and I would do so.

SATA in theory is faster, in practice, the physical hard drive capabilities are the limiting factor. That, and the 250 being newer than the 160 makes me think that the 250 is going to be faster.

and yeh I'll move it.

Oh ok cool. Yeah I did some benchmarking and they're about the same. Only real dif was the access time. Thanx.
