So you let Limewire load all night without any antivirus program?! Please see the following to begin the malware cleaning process:

By the way, the format of your question shows that you're doing 'hard returns'. This means that instead of letting the line 'wrap', you're hitting the Return key. Don't do that. Windows will wrap tot he next line as needed.

Last Known Good Configuration
on pressing F8 at startup

But I think you may need to run msconfig and turn off all the startups possibly.

It might take a while, maybe just tell him
He might say, he wanted to format anyway.
Maybe he did it.

No i didn't let limewire load all night. i finished downloading the file
then i closed limewire. I then continued to use my computer as normal
for the rest of the night.

Well i installed norton anti-virus 2005 on the laptop then transfered to my
computer. It has located which virus i have VBS.Runauto and where it's located in C drive windows/system32/autorun. I've tried to repair it but it says "cannot be repaired"
then i tried to go in and delete it and it says access denied ?
And the thing is my local hard drives open sometimes ?
like i turned the computer on then left it for like an hour. i tried to go into
the local hard drives and it worked ? but my net is still stuffed =="

any suggestions?

Yes

1. Remove Norton
2. Download AVG Free (note this is all done on the laptop then transfer it) http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download?prd=afe
3. Then download AVG manual updates: http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download-update
(once installed: Open AVG-->Tools-->Update from directory)

4. Then run a full scan (ofcourse you need to transfer the setup program and manual updates, and install it first)

But remember No.1, remove Norton

I don't remember if the Norton Removal Tool tells you this, but you will need to make sure that it does not start when you boot, or it will not allow the uninstall:

Start> Run> type in ''msconfig' without the quotes> Selective Start-up> Startup tab> uncheck the process that is for this> Apply> OK.

Reboot> Close the nag message that comes up after checking 'don't show this message again'.

Now do the uninstall using the removal tool.

Actually they're all in services.msc and you have to disable them.

But the tool (link above) will do all this, without any manual stuff, then you will need to restart your computer for all the services to be removed (and I do say, all)

Sometimes there are some leftovers in registry, but these won't matter, unless you want to re-install Norton (not recommended)

I realize this may be the first time, you've heard someone say remove Norton.
But I've said it to users possibly hundreds of times. Let alone the countless web pages that also recommend this (say, millions on that)

I'll answer on a different angle though

AVG Ver 8 now comes with Antivirus and Spyware removal all in one (and it's free)
When it finds a virus (or possibly a Trojan) it removes it (in use or not!) It may not be No.1 in the world, but definately closer than Norton will ever be!

Probably to do with Norton (in part) But fixing the picture viewer is never going to be an issue, once your computer is Virus and Trojan free.

Truthfully? Possibly not!
Once any Virus (etc) have been removed, you may need to repair your Internet browser, and even set up your Internet connection again.

Why didn't Norton remove it?
Oh yeah, it can't !
