Hi guys. Have a quick question.
My Compaq Presario f500, will NOT pick up a driver.
It was windows Vista, then I put on xp pro.
Files and drivers did not pick up. Alot of googleing, I did get some the drivers for alot of them.
Then I flip the machine over, where is say Service tag. I got a F551AU MODEL. tried that but still can not get a driver for UNKNOW.
In the device manager
Under Other Device these a UNKNOWN DEVICE.
The wifi works fine. In fack I'm using the wifi now.
In the device manager
Two(2) item under network adapter
Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN
&
NVIDIA nForce networking controller
Both are working.

I Have a feeling it had something to do with th Ethernet connection.

Have been the the compaq site. Nothing in there of any use.
Installed ALL software on that site(HP), but still have the Under Other Device with the "UNKNOWN DEVICE"

What do you mean "Unless you have something plugged into your computer"

I have NOT unplug any cables. Everything remains was so. The only change I've have is software. Which is taking off VISTA to install XP PRO.
